
The first flight carrying Pakistanis seeking repatriation from Saudi Arabia due to the corona virus carried 250 people to Jeddah between 2.30pm on Thursday and Friday, while the second flight left Riyadh on Friday morning carrying 250 passengers to Islamabad.
It may be recalled that Zulfi Bukhari, Special Assistant to
Prime Minister Imran Khan for Overseas Pakistanis, held a meeting with members
of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia at a virtual town hall twice a week
to repatriate Pakistanis seeking return from Saudi Arabia. Announced the start
of flights.
Earlier, the Pakistani embassy had asked Pakistanis and
families whose visas were expiring and who wanted to return home to provide
information on the air strikes imposed to curb the spread of the corona virus.
So that the Embassy of Pakistan can inform the concerned agencies and take
steps for their early repatriation.
According to the data, the categories of people who want to go to Pakistan include those whose departure is imminent or those on family, work and business visas and residency holders who must go due to an emergency.
